The Hornet Mobile™ Laser Cladding System

The Hornet Mobile system is designed to perform high-quality repairs and surface treatments on large, immovable, or hard-to-transport components.

Perform on-site repairs
This system eliminates the logistical challenges and costly downtime associated with transporting heavy parts. Instead, the Hornet Mobile System brings the full power of robotic laser cladding directly to your production facility, shipyard, or remote field location.

Why choose a Hornet Mobile System?

The choice between a mobile and a fixed system depends entirely on the size, location, and nature of the components needing the laser cladding treatment.

Mobile systems offer convenience and cost savings for large-scale, on-site repairs, while fixed systems excel in controlled, high-volume manufacturing or smaller part refurbishment.

While fixed systems are optimized for repeatable processes in a dedicated production line, The Hornet Mobile System is engineered for situations where the component simply cannot or should not be moved.

  1. Eliminate Logistical Hurdles: Moving oversized components is a project in itself. It requires heavy transport, specialized handling, and carries inherent risks. The Hornet Mobile System bypasses this completely. The system is brought to your part, minimizing operational complexity.
  2. Drastic Downtime Reduction: Where logistics and transport can take days or even weeks, The Hornet Mobile System can be deployed immediately. For large, capital-intensive assets, this translates to a direct cost saving.
  3. Flexibility for Complex Access: Our mobile system, using a robot, can access difficult or complex geometries and be used in narrow or high-altitude locations, offering greater adaptability to different work environments

The Hornet Difference

Hornet Robot APP

This system includes standard program macros in the Hornet Robot APP, allowing fast programming of common geometries without the need for programming skills. Operator skill requirements are significantly reduced — the operator only needs to jog the robot and enter basic data, after which the robot calculates the required tool paths. Cladding parameters can be easily recalled from the HMI, enabling cladding to start within minutes.

Included program macros:

  • line
  • line advanced
  • arc

Optional additional macros:

(in combination with additional external manipulator)

  • flange
  • crankshaft
  • cylinder
  • cone
